Change exactly one letter
Each move swaps a single letter, and the result must be a real four-letter word. FOOD can become FOOL, but FOOD to POOL in one go is an illegal two-letter jump.
Reach POOP
Climb the ladder until you land on POOP. There is no move limit and no dead ends — if a route stalls, retrace a step and try another letter. Letters that already match POOP glow green.

Plan the last two rungs first
Almost every Poople solve enters through a neighbor of POOP such as LOOP, POOR, PROP, COOP, HOOP or PLOP. Before you commit to a route, glance at which entry word your ladder can actually reach — working backwards from the target saves wasted moves.
Trust the green letters
A green tile means that letter already sits in its final POOP slot. Keep it there and change one of the other three letters. Fixing green positions early shrinks the search space with every rung.
